From May 26th to 27th 2017 the annual National Brass Music Festival took place in Vienna. The Postmusik Salzburg played there for 2 days with 19 other bands from all over Austria, South Tyrol and Liechtenstein as well as 26 Viennese choirs at twelve selected locations in the Austrian capital city.
A highlight of this year’s festival was the 150th anniversary of the Post and Telekom Band of Vienna. They used the occasion to host the meeting of Austrian Post Brass Bands. The Postmusik Salzburg had the honour of playing a concert in the arcade courtyard of the Vienna City Hall on Friday evening. On Saturday another concert was played in bright sunshine on the Maria-Theresien-Square. This was followed by a big parade and show programs of all brass bands. The celebrations ended in the Vienna Prater with the Postmusik Salzburg providing a musical accompaniment to the evening together with their singer Astrid Hinterberger-Stumpfl. We thank the Postmusik Vienna for the invitation and wish all the best for their anniversary year!
