In the beautiful setting of the Castle of Orth in Gmunden, the Postmusik Salzburg gave a sonorous and harmonious concert with the “Triumph March” from Aida by Giuseppe Verdi, the overture to the operetta “The Two Savojards” by Jacques Offenbach, as well as contemporary pieces such as the song “Mitten im Leben” from Udo Jürgens. An extract of the concert – a wonderful version of “Carrickfergus” (solo for baritone) interpreted by Andreas Stöger-Schmidt can be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNXeESi4Mu0
One of the musical highlights was the performance of the famous aria “Nessun Dorma” from the opera Turandot by the Max Prodinger. The concert was completed by an excellent performance of the singer Astrid Hinterberger-Stumpfl.
